      <image:title>Publications - Campfire</image:title>
<image:caption>Campfire is published by Southern Music and Keiser Productions. It is written as a quasi–fiddle tune, drawing on idiomatic bowing patterns and rhythmic figures associated with a fiddle style. The Nashville Shuffle is prominent throughout the work and is shared across the ensemble in most sections. There is a modified version of the bowing that includes a double up-bow at the end of the measure. Rhythmic variety is further enhanced by some running sixteenth-note passages. The piece is set in E minor, contributing to its earthy tonal color. Notes often change only on the beat, allowing the focus to remain on Nashville Shuffle bowing. The B section features repetitive material in which sections entered in a staggered fashion. First violins, followed by cellos, have some more shuffled patterns that complement the repeated figures. Bass writing plays a significant role in this work, highlighted with sustained passages in fourth position. Once established, the passage is written so bass players can navigate the line all in fourth position while string crossing between the G and D strings. This is important so that the focus can be on learning where fourth position is and getting the four notes in tune. <image:title>Publications - Country Czardas</image:title>
<image:caption>Country Czardas is published by Southern Music and Keiser Productions. It is written in the style of a Hungarian folk dance, following the traditional binary form of a slow Lassú followed by a fast Friss. This complementary contrast provides both expressive lyricism and rhythmic drive. The work is centered in D minor, highlighting characteristic folk sonorities of harmonic minor. It is especially important to emphasize the augmented second between C-sharp and B-flat. Rhythmic textures reflect common dance practices, with lower strings emphasizing strong beats while upper strings articulate off-beat figures. While this accompaniment pattern is prevalent, basses and cellos are also given some melodic material throughout the piece. An expected accelerando contributes to the sense of momentum typical of Hungarian dance music. One distinctive feature of the writing is the use of quarter-note triplets at the ends of select phrases, providing a subtle rhythmic variation while maintaining stylistic coherence.
